Frankie's roll of honour is an opportunity for us to thank all the children and schools that fundraise for us throughout the year.

Wow! In 2010 £22,406.44 was raised by all the fantastic schools that support Saint Francis Hospice. 

This amount could fund over 430 hours of nursing care in patient's own homes OR it could cover the costs of three patients' treatment, paying for their stay on the inpatients unit, and giving them access to medical care, and services such as complementary therapy, physiotherapy and bereavement support. 

So how did they do it? If you would like your school to fundraise and would like some ideas to get you started, here are a handful of ways schools raised funds in 2010:

• Sponsored silence
• Selling handmade cards
• Concerts
• Non-uniform days
• Sale of hospice merchandise 
• School sleepover
• Collections at open evenings or assemblies 
• Donating library book fines
