Look who is supporting your local hospice!

 

  • Tigers Football Club raised £2,181 from an ice-skating event.
  • Hornchurch and Upminster Rotary Club presented £6,200 raised from their sponsored walk for Saint Francis Hospice last year - another walk is planned for Sunday September 5th 2010.

 

 

New Cambell Netball Club, which is based in Dagenham, donated £200, which was raised by the junior section (6-16-year-olds) who had a fancy dress event before Christmas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Waitrose in Buckhurst Hill raised £377  and Waitrose in Upminster raised £640 thanks to community support from their community matters programme.

 

 

 

 

Thrift Green Trotters 10k race donation

 

 

 

Brentwood based running club Thrift Green Trotters has presented a cheque for £1,500 to the hospice from their Brentwood 10k road race, which incorporated the Essex 10k championships, held in July.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Harold Hill Bowls Club held a fun day in September and handed over a cheque for £1,915. Guests at the fun day enjoyed live music and a chance to try out bowls, archery and tennis.There was also face painting for the children and an auction.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Ralph Buteux and Frank Fullick of Dignity Funerals in Ilford handed over a cheque for £400
  •  The family and friends of hospice supporter Laurence Dordoy raised in excess of £2,000 in his memory. Laurence took part in London Marathon for Saint Francis Hospice.

  • Hornchurch and District Allotment and Gardens Society raised an amazing £1,940 at the 2009 Havering Show by selling plants and produce they had grown. Havering Deputy Mayor Councillor Melvin Wallace presented a cheque to the hospice in October.
  • Hospice volunteer Cherry Churchill modelling in the Roomes Store Fashion Show. Staff also held a charity football match and these two events raised £4,500
  • Mrs Barbara Bundy and her family held a fishing match at Puddledock Fishery in memory of Derek Bundy. This was very well attended and raised more than £300
