3 Day Health Care Assistant's Introduction to Palliative Care

This well established three day introduction to palliative care course, is appropriate for all Health and Social Care Assistants, Auxilliary Nurses and Support Workers working in hospitals, hospices, nursing homes or in the community setting.
The course aims to explore the importance of palliative care provision and to promote good practice in a variety of settings.
The course programme will include topics such as:
- Principles of Palliative Care
- Incorporating the Philosophy of Holistic care into everyday work
- Communication skills
- Introduction to Grief, Loss and Bereavement
- Spiritual Care
- Practical tips - mouth care, positioning in bed etc.
- End of Life care - including the use of the Liverpool Care Pathway
- Ethical Issues
£150 per person for all three days (includes lunch and all course materials)
