Beauty of Hospice gardens recognised with award
18 October 2011
The beauty of our gardens has been recognised with a Havering in Bloom Award as we have won the Best Commercial Area.
Staff and volunteers who look after the gardens were presented with a certificate at the Havering in Bloom Awards on Friday 14th October. We were also highly commended in the London in Bloom awards.
Sara Glover, Director of Finance and Support Services, said: “We are delighted Saint Francis Hospice has won a Havering in Bloom Award for the third year running. It is a testament to our gardener Dave Collins and his team of volunteers and I would like to thank them for their hard work.
Patients and visitors often comment about our beautiful grounds and how they enjoy watching the wildlife or sitting out in them relaxing or reflecting.”
Our stunning grounds feature two ponds, an area of the Hospice’s Love Everlasting rose, which was created for the charity’s 25th anniversary in 2009 and a Garden of Remembrance.
