Bupa 10,000 runners raise £2,750 for hospice
02 June 2011

A team of eleven Saint Francis Hospice runners took the streets of London on Monday 30th May, taking part in the Bupa 10,000 – raising over £2750 in the process. The 10k route winds its way round some of London’s best sights, including Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Among the runners was Clare Horgan, who works as a bank health care assistant at the hospice. A keen runner, Clare competed in the London Marathon in 2009, and also climbed Mount Kilamanjaro in October last year. “It really was a great run,” she said. “I took in all the sights – but it was really hot, which affected my time.”
Hospice fundraiser Lauren Josman said: “Thank you to Clare and all the other runners for taking part in the Bupa 10,000. It was a tough day for running due to the heat, but they have all raised a fantastic sum of money to help people living with a life limiting illness.”
If you would like to join a running event for the hospice, there are still spaces available in the Dublin Marathon on 31st October, or the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 9th October. Visit our running events page to find out more.
