Charity cricket match raises £400
14 July 2011

Havering-atte-Bower Cricket Club challenged Saint Francis Hospice to a game this weekend at their stunning ground in the village – raising over £400 in the process. Despite a fight from the hospice team, Havering-atte-Bower beat them by three wickets in an entertaining contest. The hospice managed an impressive 195-8 off their 35 overs but Havering reached their target of 196-7 with three overs to spare.
Spectators basked in the sunshine during the afternoon, enjoying a BBQ and trying their luck on the raffle.
Jane Frame, Director of Fundraising and Marketing said: “It was a lovely afternoon at Havering-atte-Bower Cricket Club, and I’d like to thank the hospice team for representing the charity and doing us proud – despite the score! I’d also like to thank Havering-atte-Bower Cricket Club for hosting the afternoon, and for the money they raised.”
