Fortnum and Masons Hamper up for grabs if you meet first lottery draw deadline
04 September 2011

Time is running out to try your luck and join the first Saint Francis Hospice lottery draw. Players who sign up before 7th September will also be in with a chance of winning a Fortnum and Mason’s luxury hamper – as well as the top prize of £1,000.
The hamper, from the Queen’s grocer based in Piccadilly is worth £500, and includes treats such as vintage champagne, cherry and cognac preserve and wild smoked salmon.
The Saint Francis Hospice lottery will hold the first of its weekly draws on October 7th, offering those with tickets the chance to win £1,000, or up to £25,000 in the roll over, in exchange for a £1 a week donations.
The hospice, based in Havering-atte-Bower, provides specialist end of life care to people across Havering, Brentwood, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham and West Essex. Patients have access to care in their own homes, the day hospice or on the ward.
All the services are provided free of charge, and the running cost this year is £7.2 million. The NHS covers one third of the costs, so the charity relies on the support of the community to bring in over £4.5 million. If successful, the new initiative could bring in an income of £1m for the charity.
“Your odds of winning this lottery are really good especially for the first few weeks, so with the added chance of winning this amazing hamper, we think this is an irresistible offer, so get involved!” said Esther Wakeman, marketing manager. “As well giving you an opportunity to try your luck, you will know that your money will be making a huge difference to hundreds of people in your community.”
Players can have up to 20 numbers, and will be able to pay by direct debit either monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or annually, as this will keep the administration costs down. It is also possible to pay by cheque or card for 13, 26, or 52 weeks.
To be in with a chance of winning the Fortnum and Mason’s hamper, and to be in the first draw, visit www.sfh.org.uk or call Maria Tillet-Hayes on 01708 771433.
