'Ladies that Lunch' event raises over £1,000 for patient care
20 July 2011

Eighty women from The Upminster Golf Club Ladies Section held a special ‘Ladies that Lunch’ event on Monday 18th July, raising £1,310. The ladies devoured a delicious three course meal, enjoyed entertainment from 15 year-old singer Jordan, and took part in a raffle, which included impressive prizes donated from Saks Hairdressers in Gidea Park, and David Lloyd gym.
“It was a wonderful lunch, all the ladies were dressed up as if it were ladies day at Ascot,” said community fundraiser Rochelle Hodds, who attended the event. “Everyone was so generous in donating raffle prizes – and then buying tickets to win them back! The money raised will make a real difference to patient care, and we are very grateful to the Ladies Captain Joan Little and Phillippa Crowder for all their hard work in making the event such a great success.”
