New-look charity shop will offer customers more choice

09 January 2012

One of our shops is to close for a refurbishment that will see the creation of a wedding department and extra shopping space.

The shop in Station Lane, Hornchurch, will close on January 16th to enable the refurbishment to take place. This will involve the ground floor being extended to the pavement, which will mean customers will benefit as more stock can be displayed.

The first floor is being converted into a specialist wedding and occasion wear department, similar to the Special Moments shop, which was in Collier Row and closed in December.

Steve Rose, General Manager of our shops company, said: “We are confident the wedding department will be a welcome addition to the Hornchurch shop and that Julia Bishop, shop manager and her wonderful team of volunteers will be busy helping brides find the perfect dress and accessories. The larger ground floor will also enable us to display extra stock, offering more choice to customers.”

The new-look Hornchurch shop should re-open on Valentine’s Day, February 14th and in the meantime hospice supporters can take donations of clothes, books, jewellery and other items to the Hornchurch furniture shop or another Saint Francis Hospice shop.

Our shops depend on donations of unwanted new and good quality items such as furniture, clothes, electrical products and more to sell and raise money to support the work of the Hospice providing specialist care, free of charge, to local people affected by life-limiting illness such as cancer, heart disease and Motor Neurone Disease.

If you would like to make a donation or become a volunteer call 01708 376269 or see our shops page for details of your nearest store.
