New mascot launched
08 April 2010

Meet Frankie the Lion, the newest member of the Saint Francis Hospice team, who will be out and about in the community and joining in fundraising events.
We are delighted to introduce Frankie the Lion as our mascot and he will attend events including sponsored walks, town shows and activities at schools and involving children. He will always be ready to have his picture taken with people of all ages and promote the work of Saint Francis Hospice.
Public Relations Executive Clare Campbell said: “We’re always looking for new ways to engage with our community and raise awareness about Saint Francis Hospice and thought Frankie would be a brilliant addition to the hospice team as he should appeal to people of all ages.
“The inspiration for a lion came because they are brave and family-orientated, which reflects our work supporting patients and their children, relatives and friends. Patients face many challenges and demonstrate courage and bravery, which is echoed through the choice of a lion as the hospice mascot.”
Frankie is friendly and willing to get involved in cheque collections and community events, if you have a request please the fundraising office.”
You can also become a fan of Frankie the Lion on Facebook. He will make posts as to what he has been doing in the community. All you have to do is search for Frankie the Lion.
We will also be launching Frankie’s Club aimed at children. For a suggested donation of £5 you will receive a signed picture, soft toy lion and information about events Frankie will be attending.
