We need your votes to secure NatWest grant
01 October 2011
Your votes are needed to help your local hospice - Saint Francis Hospice - secure a much-needed grant of up to £6,000 from the NatWest CommunityForce Fund.
NatWest are looking to support three projects per area with an award of £6,000 and we are hoping to get a share of the money to help towards the Hospice at Home service, where nurses provide care for patients who wish to spend their final weeks or days at home.
Voting is simple, all you have to do is log onto http://communityforce.natwest.com/project/1769 and follow the steps to vote for Saint Francis Hospice. This will involve registering with your name and an email address.
But time is of the essence because the voting only takes place from September 26th to October 23rd.
Laura Hill, Hospice Trust Fundraiser, said: “The £6,000 grant would mean so much to the patients and families we support as it could pay for our nurses to provide 120 hours of care to patients wishing to spend their final days at home with family and loved ones.
We need you, your friends, family, colleagues and anyone you know to vote for us, so please log onto the website and support us – your local hospice - and spread the word.”
The Hospice provides specialist care to around 600 people affected by life-limiting illness at any one time and the support is much appreciated as illustrated by patient Edith Adock, who said: “I love coming to the day hospice because I see so many people and although we all have problems everyone is bright and cheerful. I can see a doctor if I need to and that puts my mind at rest and I can have physiotherapy, which helps me.”
Saint Francis Hospice is in the Romford area as part of the online voting process.
