Introduction to Palliative Care

This is an afternoon session designed to give an insight into the services provided by Saint Francis Hospice.

This study session is for anyone working in health and social care who has an interest in learning more about palliative care and the hospice philosophy. Ideal for all new to post, or the area, such as GPs, doctors, medical students, nurses, student nurses, or any health or social care worker who have not visited a hospice before.

What will I study?
• Philosophy of palliative care
• Services offered by Saint Francis Hospice.
• There will be an opportunity to view our day therapy unit and in-patient unit.

If you have attended the introductory afternoon and would like to learn more about palliative care, please get in touch with us. Although we cannot accommodate individual short placements, we may be able to guide you in the best way to meet your needs. We welcome students from the wider multidisciplinary team.
