You're invited to help celebrate anniversary
15 February 2010
TV journalist and businessman Martyn Lewis CBE will be the special guest at a celebration to mark 25 years of Saint Francis Hospice providing care and support to local people affected by any life limiting illness.
The thanksgiving service will be held at Romford Baptist Church on Saturday 13th March and there will be hymns, music from Hall Mead School Choir, Upminster, and stories about how the hospice has developed since it opened its doors to patients on July 23rd 1984.
Martyn Lewis, who is involved in the hospice movement and was special guest at Saint Francis Hospice in 1993 when he officially opened the purpose-built Day Hospice, will talk at the service. Martyn is also featured as the narrator on a new DVD highlighting the care we provide and you can watch it on YouTube by searching for Saint Francis Hospice.
Hospice Chairman John McKernan said: “We would really welcome you in joining us to celebrate this milestone of 25 years of Saint Francis Hospice. The Hospice was made possible thanks to the community campaigning and fundraising and it is your ongoing participation that has made Saint Francis what it is today and what it can be tomorrow.”
If you would like to attend the afternoon thanksgiving service please call 01708 753319 for more information and tickets, which will be issued on a first come first served basis.
