Emotional Support
Emotional support can be as important to your care as clinical intervention. From your diagnosis onwards you will confront a bewildering array of emotions, some of which you will find confusing and difficult to deal with.
We recognise that unless you are able to find a way to cope with your anxiety you are unlikely to feel fulfilled or at peace, or be able to fully enjoy the company of your family and friends. Likewise, we recognise that those close to you will have emotional needs as you take this journey together.
Our counsellors will encourage you to talk openly and confidentially about anything that is troubling you. In our experience, people who are able to express themselves in this way can often come to terms with their illness and communicate more clearly with those they love. Children and other family members can also benefit from talking to trained counsellors and we are pleased to extend this service to them.
