Blooming success for hospice gardens

Saint Francis Hospice scoops two awards for its beautiful gardens.

The gardening team at Saint Francis Hospice in Havering-atte-Bower were delighted to win a silver medal for their patio, hanging baskets and window boxes in the London Society Awards.

It also walked away with a bronze medal in the large gardens category.

Claire White, Head Gardener at the hospice, (pictured on the right with garden volunteers) said," I'm really proud of our gardening team of volunteers for all their hard work and efforts which have enabled us to win these two fabulous awards.

The hospice, which cares for around 4,000 people affected by life limiting illness every year, overlooks Bedfords Country Park and is home to an impressive variety of trees shrubs and flowers and features a Roman garden, private garden and a pond.
