  • Registration Prices: £15 for adults, £6 for under 16s, and children under 5 walk for free.

About the event:


From 10am onwards, we welcome you and your loved ones to join us and walk in remembrance. The walk begins at 11am, through the picturesque paths of Raphael Park. There will be entertainment at the event with stalls for the whole family to enjoy including your dogs! Choose between a gentle 3k stroll or challenge yourself with a 5k route, whichever path you take, it’s all about honouring cherished memories.


This event is designed for all ages and abilities, a true family affair. As you traverse the scenic park, take in the sights and sounds with food and drink stalls dotting the route. Engage with various stalls catering to children and the whole family, even your furry companions are welcome to join!


How do I fundraise for the event?


We invite you to dedicate your walk to a special someone you've lost and walk in their memory. We ask you to set up your JustGiving page and ask your friends and family to sponsor you. Set up your JustGiving page today.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does registration cost?

£15 for adults, £6 for under 16s, and children under 5 walk for free.


Included in the registration fee are T-shirts for adults, bespoke memory walk lanyards for children, and entry to the event.

How long is the walk?

Choose between a gentle 3k stroll or challenge yourself with a 5k route, whichever path you take, it’s all about honouring cherished memories.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome.

How old do I need to be to take part in The Saint Francis Hospice Memory Walk?

Our walk is a family event and open to all but an adult guardian must accompany each entrant aged under 16 for the duration of the walk.

What should I wear?

You can wear your hospice t shirt or lanyard and comfortable clothing. We have a 5k route and a 3k route so appropriate footwear is recommended. Please check the forecast before the day so you can ensure you have something appropriate for all weathers. 

What are the timings for the day?

Arrival and registration is from 10am with the walk starting at 11am. There are stalls for you to enjoy and areas to for you to stay and spend the day with us but the event will close at 4pm. 

What are the parking arrangements?

We're working on this, and we'll have some information here very soon.

Is public transport an option?

Raphael Park is situated just outside the centre of Romford, you can access this via train or bus. 

Is there an easy access route?

This event is mainly on concrete paths however, there is a section that goes over uneven ground and grass. 

Do I need to raise a certain amount of money?

Your entry fee covers the cost of the event, so we ask each participant to fundraise or donate a suggested amount of £100.


Your fundraising or donation will make a huge difference to the lives of people and their families ?" for example, £100.25 pays for one senior nurse for one day. Thank you for supporting Saint Francis Hospice!

Your fundraising and support will help people like Ria Melvin


Ria  was just 23 when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour.


The Hospice supported Ria from this point onwards, with emotional support, a range of therapies and medical care that allowed her to die surrounded by her family at home.


Ria made the most of our services, which meant her final journey was one that was as comfortable as it could be.
