Our Specialist Advice Line is available 24 hours per day, 365 days of the year.

We offer advice to patients and their families, carers, GPs and healthcare professionals looking for information on complex palliative care and life-limiting illness.

We will assess, advise, manage symptoms and offer support through a crisis and then any on-going care will be given according to specialist palliative care need.

Once symptoms are more controlled and the crisis has settled, on-going care will be managed by your key worker, such as District Nurse or GP.

Information for Brentwood Residents:

Brentwood residents may have heard of a new initiative called 'OneResponse'. 

OneResponse is a call co-ordination service for people with palliative care needs, based at St Luke's Hospice in Basildon. It can be accessed by South West Essex residents, including those in Brentwood. 

If you live in Brentwood and you call OneResponse, details will be taken regarding the nature of your call and what services are required. If there is any need for specialist palliative care, we at Saint Francis Hospice will be forwarded the information as we are the provider of specialist palliative and end of life care in Brentwood. 

Please be assured that any contact details you already have for us will remain the same. OneResponse is simply an alternative route of access to our specialist community services. 

Our Specialist Advice Line is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is manned by a Clinical Nurse Specialist who will be able to answer any questions regarding medications and symptom control.
