Festive fun at Pemberton Place
Well, it may be cold outside but there was plenty of warmth, laughter and festivities in Pemberton Place yesterday as we held our annual Christmas party for day service users.
Once again, the talented choir from Drapers' Pyrgo School in Romford entertained patients with well-known songs before people had fun singing and swaying as they played rounds of musical bingo!
Our catering manager Vince Felton prepared fabulous flaming Christmas puddings and our special guests were treated to a buffet lunch.
The entertainment didn't stop there as songbird Jan Fielder performed some upbeat tunes to take people down memory lane!
"All the patients had the most fantastic time and it was such a pleasure to see them enjoy themselves," said Pemberton Place Co-ordinator Andrea Prout.
There was also a raffle which raised over £200. Lyn Carroll, who works with the complementary therapy team, was the lucky winner of the Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Minx and Gnasher soft toys - knitted by our volunteer Mary.
And four paws for Bobby. The 18-year-old canine, who is an ambassador for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, also popped in to say hello and enjoy a stroke and a cuddle!
A huge thank you to George Hawes who donated a food hamper and helped to fund the party and to everyone who gave their time to make it a day to remember.
