Inspirational mum set to raise £3,500 in latest charity challenge
An inspirational mum-of-two is preparing for her latest challenge to raise more than £3,500 for a charity close to her heart.
Tracy Dowden, 34, together with a team of six family and friends will be running in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October to support Saint Francis Hospice.
As part of their efforts to meet their £3,500 target Tracy organised a raffle and on Friday she was at the hospice where the winning tickets were drawn. "I love fundraising for the hospice," said Tracy from Romford. "I first started fundraising because I wanted to support my local hospice but over the years we have lost family and friends and we really came to realise how hard everyone works at the hospice. I can only describe the staff as angels in disguise."
The dedicated team includes her husband Liam Dowden along with Danielle Bertie, Dan Makepeace, Grant McGlinchey, Steven Whittle and Amanda Locke.
Tracy, who has already raised more than £7,700 for the hospice, said they would also be boosting their target by hosting bingo nights, coffee mornings and a sponsored walk with school children in the run up to the charity challenge.
