Health and social care professionals
Saint Francis Hospice has a long history of working with healthcare professionals from many disciplines. We’ve helped district nurses, GPs, care homes and hospitals provide the highest quality palliative care.
Our team of two consultants oversee a specialist registrar, a doctor from our local GP training scheme along with other doctors specialising in palliative medicine. We also maintain a network of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and psychological therapists.
This body of medical professionals offers a comprehensive range of treatments to inpatients, those in our day care unit and those who prefer to receive treatment in their own homes. They also offer practical advice to families and carers.
Our hospice plays a key role in educating healthcare professionals to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to practice all aspects of end-of-life care. The education centre at Saint Francis is more than just an outstanding facility; it is a centre of excellence producing confident and capable staff.
Our 24/7 support line is open for professionals looking for specialist advice about palliative care. A Saint Francis Hospice nurse is on-hand to offer guidance for you and the patients in your care.
Our on-site education centre hosts an extensive library of resources and has a busy schedule of courses and training days, available to both carers and professionals.
