Saint Francis Hospice, along with The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, the Clinical Commissioning Group, NELFT, BHRUT have organised Barking and Dagenham's very first End of Life conference, to enable all health professionals to come together and discuss palliative care for those in the local community.

This event provides an opportunity to work in partnership and ensure people of Barking and Dagenham receive the care that they need and in their place of choice. It also to highlights the importance of knowing about and advanced care plan and how to put one in place, as well as to ensure carers have as much support is possible.

For the conference, we want to focus the following 6 'Ambitions';

  • Each person is seen as an individual

  • Each person gets fair access to care

  • Maximising comfort and wellbeing

  • Care is co-ordinated

  • All staff are prepared to care

  • Each community is prepared to help

This conference is funded from the Building Capabilities Big Lottery Fund.
