This is an unremunerated role, but all relevant expenses will be reimbursed.
2 – 3 days per month
for in-person meetings, The Hall, Havering-atte-Bower, Romford, Essex, RM4 1QH; hybrid – via Teams.
Trustee appointments are for a three-year term, renewable for a maximum of two terms.

Lead with Purpose – Become Chair of the Board of Trustees at Saint Francis Hospice
We are seeking a new Chair of the Board of Trustees to lead our Board at a pivotal time in our journey. With a new five-year strategy focused on growth and innovation, and a recent ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating, Saint Francis Hospice is poised to expand its reach and deepen its impact.
As Chair, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership to the Board and support to the CEO
- Champion our mission to deliver the best care for all at the end of life
- Ensure strong governance and uphold our values: Compassionate, Collaborative, Creative
- Act as an ambassador for the Hospice locally, regionally and nationally
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate leader with experience of chairing or senior governance roles, who brings strategic insight, emotional intelligence, and a passion for community impact. You will be a confident communicator, a team builder, and a thoughtful challenger.
