Virgin Money London Marathon 2020

It doesn't get bigger, better or tougher than the Virgin Money London Marathon. It's the world's largest fundraising event and the ultimate in sporting challenges. And we'd love you to be part of our team!
Registration is now CLOSED for the Virgin London Marathon 2020. To register your interest in running the Virgin London Marathon in 2021, please contact Events at events@sfh.org.uk.
We recommend that you also apply for a Public Ballot place with Virgin Money London Marathon. 
If you are running the London Marathon 2020 for us, helping to raise vital funds to help us continue providing specialist care and support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses, you will receive all the same benefits as our Gold Bond runners! Just contact Events at events@sfh.org.uk and we'll get you involved with all things #TEAMSFH20 related! 
What you'll get as a member of #TeamSFH
We will be with you every step of the way. You will receive: 
  • Support throughout your marathon journey from our dedicated Events Team.
  • An SFH running vest.
  • A SFH fundraising pack.
  • SFH promotional material to help with your fundraising.
  • Invitations to attend our marathon evenings and our pre marathon pasta night.
  • Regular email updates.
  • Access to our private Facebook runners group where you can swap training tips, fundraising advice and anything else marathon related with fellow team members.
  • Invaluable tips and advice from our marathon experts.
  • Support on the day at Mile 23 from our cheering #TeamSFH Orange Fan Zone.

Registration fee and sponsorship
If you are successful with your application, there is a registration fee of £75 which is due before we can confirm your place. This is a non-refundable registration fee and does not form part of your sponsorship.
Our Gold Bond runners are required to raise a minimum of £2,020 sponsorship. This is something we will support you with along the way, providing you with inspirational ideas and plenty of help with your fundraising so you don't only hit, but smash, your target. 
Own place runners receive all the same support from our dedicated Events Team as those with the charity places, but there are no sponsorship targets to meet. We are always grateful for your support and for any funds you can raise for Saint Francis Hospice.
Additional information if your application is successful

If you are successful in your application, you will automatically be offered a complimentary place in the Brentwood Half Marathon 2020.


Date: Sunday, 26th April 2020


Location: Blackheath - your start location will be confirmed nearer to the event at the Marathon Show at Excel the week before the run.


Mile 23 Go Orange Fan Zone: Tower Hill opposite the Liberty Bounds pub.
