Councillor Trew learns the retail ropes

We had a welcome visit during Dying Matters Week to promote our Volunteer recruitment campaign

Our staff & volunteer team at the Saint Francis Hospice shop in South Street, Romford were delighted to show Cllr. Linda Trew the retail ropes on Friday 12th May.      

'Cllr Trew came along today to help us with our volunteer recruitment drive, we appreciate her support so much as we rely on our volunteers, their contribution to the hospice is immeasurable' said Jan Scott, Service Development Manager.

Michelle Nicholls, Associate Director of Retail said 'it's absolutely brilliant that Linda came down, it's such a boost for our staff and volunteer team, volunteering is such a wonderful thing to do, we value our volunteers so highly and thank them for all that they do for us' 

Cllr Trew seemed in her element and was a natural with customers, staff and volunteers alike 'this is what I love; getting to chat with people is what I really enjoy.    

I'm here because I support Saint Francis Hospice and the terrific work they do in out borough.

The shop is far busier than I expected the variety of stock is incredible and there are definitely bargains and treasures to be found.'
