Ilford South MP visits to find out about services to Redbridge residents

Ilford South MP Mike Gapes visited on Friday to find out more about developments to our specialist end of life care services that are available to his constituents.

Mike spent time with staff and patients at our day services in Pemberton Place, where a lively social group was taking place for people under the hospice's care.     

He also mMike with our OrangeLine volunteers et volunteers from our pioneering confidential telephone service OrangeLine,   which was initially set up to support bereaved people whose loved ones were under our care.      

The service has continued to expand and now reaches out to anyone who is isolated and lonely and in need of a friendly ear or signposting to different services.      

Anne Brown, Head of Major Gifts, said, "It was lovely to once again welcome Mike to Saint Francis Hospice, so that he could hear about the latest developments to our services, and in particular our extended services in the Borough of Redbridge.     Mike with our OrangeLine volunteers  

"We now provide out of hours Hospice at Home care for Redbridge residents, as well as inpatient and day services and community based care via our Specialist Community and Crisis Support Service.     

"We are grateful to Mike for his continued supported for end of life care in Redbridge."
