Waxing perfect for Saint Francis Hospice

It is often said 'no pain no gain', and it couldn't have been truer as Emma Goodsell waxed colleagues and clients to raise more than £400 for Saint Francis Hospice.
Emma, 33, from Pilgrims Hatch, previously ran her own mobile beauty therapy business so this was the perfect way to boost her fundraising as she prepares to take on the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday, April 23 in memory of her grandad James Goodsell and her best friend Charlotte Regan's nan, who were both cared for by the charity.

"Saint Francis Hospice is an amazing hospice with the most caring staff," said Emma.

"My grandad was there in his last days and neither my grandad or the family could fault the staff and the care they gave to him."

And did it all go smoothly?

Well, there were a few screams and lots of flinching and clenched teeth as the brave men - including her two bosses -  had hair stripped from their body parts at the accountancy firm MSB and Co. in Basildon on Saturday (March 25) where Emma works as a bookkeeper.

But from the smiles and laughter from Emma and the supporters, it was all part of the fun and well worth the effort.

"It was a brilliant day," said Emma. "I love waxing, it is always a favourite!"

Emma, who completed the Brentwood Half Marathon on March 19, is now ready to put her stamina and endurance to the test in under a month's time.
