Where there's a will there's a way to protect your loved ones!

We are holding our annual Make a Will Fortnight between 12th -23th June where a number of local solicitors will be taking part by writing or amending standard wills free of charge in return for a donation made to the charity.

"At the moment, it feels like we are living in constantly changing and unpredictable times," said Susan Spencer, the hospice's Legacy Manager.

"Making a will and keeping it updated is one of the most important things we can do to ensure that our loved ones are looked after.

"People are not always aware that if they don't make a will, their assets may not go where they would like.

"If you need to write or update your will, why not take part in our Make a Will Fortnight event and support the hospice at the same time?"     Barnes Solicitors (1)

Last year, our Make a Will Fortnight event raised £11,500 from donations given by our supporters, which could pay for over 200 hours of patient care at home.

Instead of paying the solicitor a fee at your appointment, you will be asked to give a donation to Saint Francis Hospice with a suggested minimum donation of £100 for a standard will or £60 donation to update an existing will.

Currently one in five of its patients is funded by gifts in wills and the hospice is also encouraging people to think about leaving a legacy gift so it can to continue to provide essential care for local people, now and in the future.

Susan added, "It would be true to say that the last 12 months have been a challenge for the hospice, with fewer numbers of legacies received.

"As a result, more than ever we are very grateful for all gifts in wills, whatever size to help make a real and lasting difference to our work."

Are you a solicitor or will writer who is interested in taking part in our event?
