Attendees of the ‘Tea and Talk’ at Toby's Cancer Support Group raised a glass and toasted Brentwood a Becket Rotary on Monday 4 December after they kindly funded their Christmas meal. Karen Freeman, OrangeLine Manager, who runs the group tells us more.

"Tea and Talk at Toby's is a support group for anyone affected by cancer in our local area. It means people with cancer can connect with others like themselves and is a lifeline for many who come each month. To be amongst others who are also living with a cancer helps to alleviate some of the isolation, fear and loneliness that often comes with a cancer diagnosis.

"The group meets on the first Monday of each month and this month, we enjoyed a Christmas Dinner together as we look forward to the festivities. We are so grateful to Brentwood a Becket Rotary Club for funding our Christmas meal again this year!

"I would also like to thank Gemma and her team at Toby Carvery who welcome us each month and give us the space to get together regularly.

"They have both supported this wonderful group since it was set up several years ago and their generosity allows us to continue to reach people in the local and wider community.

"Finally, a huge thank you goes to all the OrangeLine volunteers who make groups like this possible."
