Happiness is... 62 years of marriage and a £1,000 lottery win!

Money can't buy happiness but a £1,000 lottery win will enable a loving couple to celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary in style.

Anne and Charles Tomnay, both 81, couldn't believe their luck when they won the jackpot on the Saint Francis Hospice lottery - 62 years to day they married in Glasgow.

"It was such wonderful news and my husband didn't believe me at first," said Anne from South Ockendon.

"I am a big supporter of Saint Francis Hospice and know they do great work.

"I have survived a big cancer operation and I know how important hospices are and how they can help people on their road to recovery.

"Playing the lottery is our way of supporting the charity."

Anne and Charles are now looking forward to using their winnings to celebrate their anniversary with their family.

"We didn't get to do what we wanted for our diamond wedding anniversary so we are going to treat the family to a special meal," said Anne.

David Holmes, Head of Individual Giving at Saint Francis Hospice said: "It is thanks to our regular players like Anne that the lottery raises hundreds of thousands of pounds to help fund our nurses and doctors.

Each number in the weekly Saint Francis Hospice lottery costs £1 and you can have up to 20 numbers. In addition to the guaranteed weekly first prize of £1,000, 10 lucky winners each get £10 and there is a rollover second prize of £3,500 in the draw to be made on September 18.
