Headteacher sets staff a muddy challenge!
A headteacher has inspired her staff to take on an adrenalin-pumping 5k obstacle challenge for their local hospice.
Clare Scott, who is Headteacher at St Peter's RC Primary School in Dagenham, along with 12 teachers and staff, has signed up for our latest fundraising adventure Mission Mud, which takes place on Sunday, October 7 at Nuclear Races, Parsonage Farm, Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood.
And they are all set for a very wet, muddy and thrilling experience as they race around the obstacles course which includes soaring zip wires and a death slide!
"We are all really excited," said Clare.
"As the new headteacher here at St Peter's I am overwhelmed by the support staff have given me.
"This is a great chance to bring the team together to raise money for a fantastic charity.
"I have known people who were cared for by the Hospice and I have witnessed first-hand the support they give patients and their families, both whilst they are at the Hospice and after families have lost a loved one."
Charlotte Stock, who has just joined the school as part of a teacher training programme, said, "I am a bit nervous but I know it will be great fun!
"I have ran half marathons before but I've never done anything like this.
"A friend of my mum's was looked after by the Hospice and I have a lot of respect for charities that work so hard to help people."
Entry costs just £50 for adults and £40 for children aged 13-17. Click here to sign up today or call the hospice's events team on 01708 723593.
