Today the nation mourns the death of Her Majesty the Queen after a lifetime of devoted service to her country.

On behalf of all our staff and volunteers at Saint Francis Hospice, we offer our sincere condolences to the Royal family for their loss.

At 96, the Queen was the longest serving monarch who was well loved and respected the world over but she was also a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

The Queen was an ardent supporter of charities, including hospices, and Saint Francis Hospice welcomed HRH Prince Philip who visited the hospice to meet patients, families and staff the year after it opened in 1985.

Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this very sad time.

Rest In Peace

God save the King
