Carers were invited to sit back, relax and enjoy a cream tea and entertainment.

The Family Support Team at Saint Francis Hospice hosted the special treat for 30 people in its Orange Café on Friday 23rd June.

“Saint Francis hospice is absolutely delighted to welcome back carers and their guests to our annual cream tea, the first one since the pandemic,” said Briony Townshend.

“It is held in June in recognition of Carers Week, a national campaign to raise awareness of caring and highlight the challenges carers face.

“This is our way of thanking the family carers of our patients for all the selfless support they give their loved ones.

“Caring for someone can be tough going, so we think this is a good opportunity to spoil them and give them something back.

“It also enables family carers to have the opportunity to get together and have some fun, with a quiz, a raffle, and musical entertainment.
