Volunteers Week 2025

Volunteers' Week 2025 is being held from 2nd-8th June 2025 with organisations all over the country celebrating volunteers and the incredible help and support they provide.
At Saint Francis Hospice, we benefit from the gift of time donated by our incredible army of volunteers who are at the centre of our organisation - our Golden Heartbeats. We are taking the opportunity during Volunteers' Week to thank all of our 650+ volunteers and to recognise the time, energy and commitment that they give to our organisation. As a charity, without them, we could not deliver all that we do for the communities we serve across Brentwood, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and parts of West Essex.
We have volunteers in so many roles and services across - from our retail charity shops, to the Ward, our community services, gardens and so much more. As much as Saint Francis Hospice benefits, our volunteers benefit too. They make social connections, make new friends, learn new skills and can gain experience that can help them in the future.
This Volunteers' Week join us in saying thank you to anyone you know who volunteers anywhere. Volunteers do so much, without any expectation of reward or recognition so it is important that we all recognise the acts of kindness they contribute, and the impact volunteers have.
So what does a volunteer look like? They look just like you and that's because they are just like you. Throughout the week, we will be sharing the stories of volunteers who give their time and skills in a variety of roles. We hope you will find their stories inspiring.
