Enhanced Hospice at Home Team Recognised as Dementia Awards Finalists

Demenita Finalists Award
Written by: Anita McCarthy

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the Enhanced Hospice at Home (EH@H) team, who have been recognised as finalists in the End of Life Care Award at the UK Dementia Awards 2026.

Earlier this year, the team were nominated in recognition of their outstanding work supporting people living with dementia at the end of life. In March, they were delighted to learn they had been shortlisted, a testament to the compassion, skill and dedication they bring to every person and loved one they support.

The nomination highlighted the team’s consistently high standard of holistic, person-centred care, enabling people to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, while receiving sensitive, responsive and highly personalised support.

As part of the awards process, Team Leader Simone Sims and colleague Leanne Jackson took part in an interview with Dr Zena Aldridge, a clinical academic specialising in dementia care, and Marion Shoard, a writer and lecturer with lived experience of dementia. The conversation gave an opportunity to share how the team supports both people and their loved ones, something that lies at the heart of their work.

Following this, Simone and Leanne were invited to attend the awards gala in Warwickshire. Reflecting on the experience, Simone said:

"The venue was stunning, and it was truly inspiring to be in a room full of people from different backgrounds and professions, all united by the same purpose – because we genuinely care."

While the team did not take home the award on the night, being named finalists is an incredible achievement in itself.

Simone added: "Being nominated and recognised as finalists, we are definitely winners. I am so, so proud of the team and all the hard work and research that goes into supporting people living with dementia at the end of their life."

The recognition reflects the EH@H team’s commitment to delivering compassionate, dignified and expert end-of-life care, supporting not just individuals but also the loved ones who matter most to them.
