Up until the pandemic, we performed concerts throughout the year and entertained people at various events such as the hospice birthday service in July and our annual remembrance service Light up Life in December.

Looking back on my time with the choir, a real highlight was back in 2016 when members of the choir joined forces with 300 fellow singers from 18 London hospices to produce a cover of the 1980s hit The Living Years (originally sung by Mike and the Mechanics).

It was an exciting time for us all as the single stormed the charts. And it gave us an incredible opportunity to put the spotlight on hospice care and give people a better understanding of how hospices help people living with serious illnesses and the valuable care and support patients and families receive at such a difficult time.

So far we have raised more than £30,000 to help patients and families who need palliative and end of life care and we don't plan to stop!

Having spent the best part of 2020/21 Zooming our way through rehearsals, we finally returned to sing together again in September 2021.  This has meant so much to us as we get so much joy out of coming together to sing and there is such a feel good factor knowing we are raising money for the hospice.

We are now all delighted to be raising our voices once again in celebrating this special year with a Spring Concert at St. Andrew's Church, 222 High Street, Hornchurch RM12 6QP on Saturday 23rd April 2022 starting at 7.00 pm.

This will be a lovely evening of light music to lift our hearts after so many dark and difficult days. We are really looking forward to it and we hope people will come along to enjoy the music and support this evening of song. Bring your family and friends with you - we promise you won't be disappointed!

Doors open from 6.30 pm and the entrance fee of £5.00 can be paid at the door. As always, all proceeds will go to the hospice.
