Frankie's classic car show scoops prestigious award!

Frankie's Classic Car and Bike Fest, which has raised more than £125,000 to fund our specialist end of life care services, has received national recognition for its contribution to charity.

The Daimler SP250 Owners Club is the core of the 'Car Team' of Frankie's and put in a huge amount of effort to make it a success.  2019 Award Screen (1)

And the club was thrilled to be shortlisted for the National Car Club Awards at the NEC in the Best Car Club Contribution to Charity for a group which has undertaken an inspired charitable endeavour in support of a worthy cause.

Against some tough opposition (Transit Van Club for a homeless charity and Renault Owners Club supporting Guide Dogs), the club triumphed by winning the overall award!

A very proud Alan Mason, who works with our fundraising team on Frankies, was presented with the award on Saturday by the sponsor and evening's host Mike Brewer, presenter from the Discovery Channel's Wheeler Dealer.   2019 Award Screen (1)

"We were delighted at this recognition of the efforts for Saint Francis Hospice, which really impressed the judges, as did the feedback from our show," said Alan.

"It was also great to see a huge picture of Frankie on the main screen, in his favourite car, which of course is a British Racing Green Daimler SP250!"

The show has been running since 2012 and this is its latest accolade.

In November it received a special Commendation in the Charity section of the Classic and Sports Car Magazine Awards at the NEC Classic Motor Show.

This year's car show is once again at Ford's Dunton Technical Centre in Laindon on Sunday, September 1.
