He says, "There is no thank you big enough for everything the team at Saint Francis Hospice have done for me. The doctors, nurses and care teams showed me what I had lost. If I had not come into the Hospice in the first place, I would have been struggling at home."

How old do you have to be to play the Lottery?
The Lottery is open to residents of Great Britain/UK aged 18 or over (this excludes Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and BFPO addresses according to Gambling Act 2005 regulations).
What are your chances of winning?
In the 12 months from April 2025 to March 2026, each draw offered 54 prizes, including the 2nd rollover prize of £250 which is available to be won in every draw, with an average chance of winning of 1 in 163.
Winners are selected by our External Lottery Manager, Sterling Management Centre Limited using a random number generator that has been tested and certified by an independent, Gambling Commission-approved test house.
Prizes are awarded in order of selection (the first number drawn will be awarded the top prize, the second number drawn will receive 2nd prize, and so on).
Each entry is only eligible to win one prize in each draw.
How much does it cost to play?
It costs £1 a week to play the lottery, payable in advance by direct debit - other methods of payment are available.
The monthly cost breakdown of £4.34 for playing the lottery is based on paying £1 per week over a 52 week year.

Of the remaining, £245,000 , £86,000 (18%) was spent on prizes and £158,000 (34%) on expenses (including £74,000 on growing the lottery.
We constantly review our costs and expenditure to keep these as low as possible.
