Chelsea Fox - Bungee Jumping, my latest fundraising challenge for Saint Francis Hospice

Chelsea Fox has raised an incredible £4,656 in memory of her grandparents Margaret and Derek Fox. The couple, who lived in Dagenham, were cared for by Saint Francis Hospice. Here Chelsea shares why she has taken on another adrenalin-fuelled challenge for hospice care.
I’ve always liked to push myself, but my latest challenge for Saint Francis Hospice was something completely different – a bungee jump from Battersea Park.
I’d never do a bungee jump just for fun, but this time it wasn’t just about the thrill. It was about raising money for Saint Francis Hospice, a charity that means everything to me.
My friend Joanne also took part, and she gave me the extra courage I needed. Her presence reminded me why I was there – for my grandparents, for the hospice, and for every family who needs their care.
That moment right after I jumped was indescribable – a mix of adrenaline, relief, and pride all at once. I’d pushed myself far beyond my comfort zone, and I’d done it for Saint Francis Hospice. That feeling stayed with me long after I was back on solid ground.
Challenging myself has become a way of life. I’ve done all sorts of daring things over the years – including becoming the hospice’s first ever wing walker. That was an unforgettable experience, strapped to the top of a plane soaring through the sky. Each challenge has been about proving to myself that I can do things I never thought I could, while raising money for a charity that’s incredibly close to my heart.
Saint Francis Hospice gave my grandparents the most amazing care – not just medical, but compassionate, and personal care. They treated my family with kindness and dignity during the hardest of times. That’s why fundraising for them will always be important to me. The hospice relies on the generosity of the community to keep going, and I want to do my bit to make sure they can continue helping other families the way they helped mine.
Knowing I’ve raised so much in honour of my grandparents fills me with pride and gratitude. It’s a way of keeping their memory alive while making a real difference for others.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s supported me – every donation, every message, every bit of encouragement. These challenges aren’t easy, but knowing they help such an important cause makes every second worth it. I’m especially thankful to Joanne for being by my side for this bungee – her friendship and courage made all the difference.
