Havering's Biggest Coffee morning - Cheers to 40 years!

To celebrate our 40th year of caring for people, Saint Francis Hospice’s Local Engagement Team, is asking our community to host their very own coffee morning on Friday 24th of May or ANY day in May.  

The hospice will be hosting a coffee morning for staff and volunteers on 24th May, and we’d love people to join us in hosting a coffee morning that day to bring their family, friends or colleagues together to mark the special occasion.  

Times may have changed but our mission never has. We’re incredibly proud to provide the very best palliative and end-of-life care services to people and their families when they need it.  

It’s no exaggeration to say Saint Francis Hospice would not be here today without the dedication and vision of the people who recognised the need for the hospice’s specialist care more than 40 years ago and without all the amazing people who have supported us by volunteering, fundraising, donating or buying preloved goods from our shops, we wouldn’t be here today. Each and everyone of those people has made a difference to someone’s life.  

Throughout the year, we’ll be sharing the stories of some of the wonderful people who have played a part in the hospice’s history. The demand for our services is growing and we want to make sure the hospice is still here for the next 40 years and beyond.  

We depend on donations

While our care remains free to access, there is a huge cost to delivering our services and as a charity, we depend on donations to fund the extensive care and support we give to people with an illness that cannot be cured. We are there for their loved ones too.  

In keeping with the 40th theme, we’ve set ourselves an ambitious fundraising target of £40,000. We know it’s a lot of money and times are very hard for people, so any support our community can give will be hugely appreciated by our patients, families, staff and volunteers.
