Beautiful Betty

Betty Innes, 90, from Ilford really inspired our Day Therapy staff this week.

Betty's been coming to our creative therapy classes for the past 3 months and during that time she's been selling her creations to friends, family, doctors and nurses and has already raised £300.

Betty & Linda Bourg

She told us "I even managed to sell 3 of my hand painted bags to the district nurses who came to visit me during a night call out.  I've always had a creative flair and used to paint a lot before I started to lose my sight"

She says that coming into the hospice has opened up a whole new world for her.  'I just love it and love the people, I don't know where they find all the lovely people.... it would be impossible to single out one person as everyone is just so lovely”.

Betty & Linda Bourg

She says that selling the bags is a way of giving something back and she is really happy to be able to do that.
